Every time I open my brooder to visit my chicks (5 weeks old), I end up getting pooped on several times. Their favorite spot seems to be the back of my shoulders. I tried paper towels on my lap, but they just wanted to shred and eat them. I’m seriously considering wearing a poncho when I sit at the brooder!!

Many of them are still pretty nervous and flighty. I’m worried the poncho will be “too scary,” just like trying to take cell phone pics. They run away every time I try! Silly question, but does anyone have any advice on wearable chick poop protective gear?

i would just put my hair up and wear an old button-up shirt for easy removal :D

Oh goodness I feel ridiculous... I never even thought about a button down shirt!! I have an old lab coat hanging in my closet from grad school that will make the perfect chick poo smock :)
