HEllo everyone. I just registered and I am very happy to find this site. Heres a bit about me.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
in 1981 - 1987 broilers, laying hens, rare breeds and standard laying hens. Now we are getting a new flock going of salmon favorells, sex links, buff orpingtons, and more.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
10 chicks, with 25 more coming from Murray Mc Murray
(3) What breeds do you have? Those mentioned above, plus silver spangled hamburgs, dominiques, leghorns, and others.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Looking for chicken house plans.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
gardening, tree grafting, Jack Russell terriers, Laboradors, and fixing the yard - nothing is landscaped around here.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I want to do canning, and make alcoholic cider, and regular cider.
I want to live off this 2.5 acre place as much as possible, and so far, we have lots of stuff going on, like new fruit trees and old ones planted, nuts, pears, cherries, grapes, garlic, and standard garden fare. I save seeds.
