Poop boards info needed

I don’t know anything but what I read here, but in browsing coop articles I came across one with what I imagine is a genius poop board. It is sloped, and has a hold at the bottom for scooping poop into a container.

I can’t get the link on my phone, but it was called the Have-a-Go Wichita Coop, and I was quite impressed!

I know they go under the roost to catch the poop during the night. However, what are the fundamentals?

What do they look like, what size, material (always wood?) how are they cleaned etc.

Thanks

What are the fundamentals What a great question. I really like the way you phrased it.

If you follow Paneubert's link you'll see there is no one answer that suits us all. I was the first to respond to that thread so I won't repeat myself. But they are just a way to collect the poop they drop at night. The general recommendation is that they extend at least a foot past your roosts, but my bins don't follow that rule. I don't think there is anything else close to standard about them. They can be level or sloped surfaces, trays (sliding or fixed), flat surfaces, or bins. You can use wood (painted or unpainted), plastic, or linoleum. Some have bedding on them, some don't. Some scoop, some scrape, some just pick up a bin and carry it out. some clean daily, I may clean anywhere from a ek to over a month. Your only limit is your imagination or finding someone's idea you want to use. Looking through that thread might help you.
