Poop in water

I have two khaki's about 5 wks. old , who love to poop in their tub of water which they also are constantly drinking from. I change the water daily. So my question would be how safe is it to eat the future eggs that come from them? Their tub by the way is a large motar mixing tub which holds around 15 to 20 gal.

It's totally safe. This is what ducks do. Even on a pond-- lots of wild birds and other ducks and fish are all pooping in that pond. It's fine.

And I have even learned chickens will peck through other animal poo looking for tidbits. We eat those eggs as well.

. As long as you are still changing the water daily it's fine. Waterfowl in general are very messy and will mess up any water source they can.

This is how I make sure my ducks are at least having not "poopy" water they have a 5 gallon bucket they drink out of its only tall enough to put their heads in however they do always get it full of food particles! But I have this next to thier kiddie pool so they aren't always having poopy water!

I know it took me some getting used to, that the ducks would jump in their swim pan, poop, then drink. Shudder! But it doesn't bother them, nope!

Thanks for the quick responses. I did try One of those 3gal jugs with a 1 inch water ring I do believe they thought that was their toilet Will try the bucket next.
