So I took Chelsea off of antibiotics 2 days ago now and she’s still doing well! She’s started itching her wounds which besides the scratching is a positive thing because she’s beginning to scab and that’s a good thing. However, in the evenings she ends up pooping very runny watery brown poops. Like puddles. The rest of the day is good. She stopped having gross yellow green poops like she did in the beginning because she’s eating more. Also to get her to eat I’ve been making her scrambled eggs with garlic and she loves them! But I became concerned and thought maybe that contributed to her gross poops. So today I have her a little this morning and that’s it. She is doing much better and moving around my kitchen instead of just standing and turning and laying again.

What feed do you use? Does it contain any probiotics? Plain Greek yogurt or buttermilk can be added in a small amount for a couple of days for probiotics to her food, and that may help get her gut bacteria back to nirmal after having antibiotics.
Thanks for the reply! I got super busy after posting this. I tried to serve her yogurt but she did not like it. She eats just regular layer feed now. I’ve reduced the eggs and let her eat the regular feed and that took care of the gross poos. She scabbed up perfectly and now has beautiful new skin underneath. Very new feathers are starting to poke through like little needles. She’s still in my house but at least she’s not dead. Lots more energy too she’s been running around my kitchen for days! Lol
