I am new to having chickens. I have a Black Sussex? and she always has poopy butt! all my others are nice and clean. Is this normal or does anyone else have this going on? Is there something I can do?

Many chickens have poo on their butts and it's not usually a big deal. It all depends how messy, runny and poopy it is. Sometimes it's simply that manure comes out and sticks and dries to the feathers for awhile before falling off. Sometimes there's an underlying cause, either disease or diarrhea caused by something as innocuous as drinking too much muddy water. Sometimes it's a yeast infection caused "vent gleet". I've written about that here: http://hencam.com/henblog/2011/08/chickens-have-messy-bottoms/
You can always give your hen a bath. I have a how-to video here:
