I think two of my birds got into a skirmish sometime today or last night. She has an area under her "ear flap" that is fleshy and sliced right thru. It has evidence of dried blood on it. I cleaned it with a q tip and put antibiotic ointment on it--is there anything else I should so?

So much turmoil introducing new birds to the older birds. I feel like I have to be out there all the time to referee!

So, this injury--what do you think?

If you introduce them at night, you won't have nearly as many problems.
As for the cut, seems like you have done fine, chickens are very good at healing themselves.

Night, like at midnight? Or night when I put them to bed? Right now I have three new ones--one who is old enough to be with the bigger girls, and two babies (a silkie banty and a splash who need a light at night to keep warm). I want to put the big one in there with the rest, bit I don't want it to be all hair, teeth and eyeballs in the morning.

So, really late at night, or just when they are settled?

ah, the stress!
