Is the white/clear area just whites (albumen) or is there a white/clearish ovum there too?

Shell tough and seemed to have a layer or two, or was it papery thin?

If you know which hen, I'd pop a Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet into her for 3-5 days, see if this repeats itself or if it's a glitch.

If this Gal is just coming back into lay after winter break and lays normally after this one, I'd chalk it up to glitch and age.

I'm not sure who it is, but I'm fairly certain it's one of my Sussex.
Shell felt normal.
There was watery blood stained white and a thick white.

How many Sussex do you have? I guess it doesn't matter...I was going to say if you have like 2 of them, then I'd be tempted to just dose both of them with Calcium🫣

The one with Flystrike last year, did she resume laying afterward? Possible it could be her, but reality is, you can find blood in an egg at any age once they come into lay. It may just be a case of ruptured blood vessels from contractions, and you won't find any more like this for a long time.

Actually, just two, so it would be easy to dose them.
She didn't lay after fly strike, it was October so they were molting. I have been concerned with her laying, not know how much damage the fly strike did.
Nobody was acting distressed this morning or tonight when I found the egg, I'm hoping it's just a wierd glitch.

Then it may be from the one that had Flystrike, you never know.
Hopefully it's a glitch.
