I bought a couple of new chickens yesterday including two seven week old silver spangled hamburgs. They’re fully feathered and have been outside for about a week.
We brought them home in the car and the journey was only about 20-30 mins, but when we got back one in particular looked pretty shellshocked. I noticed her wings are drooping. They all seemed quite quiet yesterday which is to be expected really, but while the others have perked up today and are happily scratching about being chickens, she seems really lethargic (although I have seen her have a little walk around a few times). Her wings are still droopy though and she’s spent a lot of the day in the hen house. I’m concerned so have brought her into the house to keep an eye on her and keep her separate from the others if she is sick. I’ve set her up in my brooder and she’s had food and water and seems to have perked up slightly although still seems quite tired. Am I doing the right thing? Is there any more I can do?
Thanks

Have you seen any bloody droppings? It sounds like she may have coccidiosis. If possible, I'd treat them with Corid. It won't hurt her even if she doesn't have coccidiosis. @Wyorp Rock what do you think?
Maybe give her some scrambled eggs. I hope she get well soon!

Can you get some photos of her and her droppings?
Some birds get really stressed during travel, so I would first try getting her hydrated. If you have Poultry Nutri-Drench give her a direct dose a couple of times a day or you can give her a bit of sugar water.

Coccidiosis is something to consider. Did you pick out the chicks or did the breeder pick them out and bring them to you?
