Good Morning All.

I have a cockerel " this years model" that's not crowing and not his normal self. He seems to have a chesty gargling noise, not eating as much, still drinking and occasional keeping the girls happy from time to time. His crown seems to be getting white specs on it in stead of the deep red colour ! I've rubbed his crop can't feel anything. Tiped him upside down and massaged it and a white liquid came out ! Not much but a few drops.

Love to hear anything that will help him.

Oppps I for got to mention the whole squad.

2 x Light Sussex one of each

Recently introduced " last week " 2 x Skyline and 2 x Blue Wyandotte all hens.

Many Thanks

I'm sorry to hear about your rooster. You will get more repsonses and advice you if post in the Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures forum section. Here are some tips and guidelines for posting there: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/3569/have-an-emergency-disease-please-read-first Best of luck!

It sounds like you are dealing with upper respitory disease. You need to isolate the sick roo, and start administering antibiotics. Please don't turn him upside down , you may cause him more discomfort .
