Portable Chicken Pen

I would like to build a chicken tractor and I was showing my husband the Portable Chicken Pen from McMurray hatchery. It's metal. My husband thinks I should just order it, even though it's pricey he says it will last forever.
Have any of you ever seen this pen in person? What are your thoughts.

If you're counting on your husband to help you make a portable coop and he says to order a pre-made one instead, I'd say that's a signal that he can't/won't help you make one.

Not everyone has more time than money, even these days.

I have a pre-made coop/tractor for exactly that reason. I work an average of 50 hours a week, commute nearly 2 hours a day, and like to have a personal life that involves more than just eating and going to sleep. So, fitting in "build a chicken coop or tractor" is really not going to happen.

If you're still not sure what your husband may mean, perhaps he is open to you asking flat out: Can you help me build a chicken tractor? If his answer is no or is in any way evasive, then do yourself and your marriage a favor and just buy one. It's not worth ruining your relationship!

Your absolutely right. I think I will attempt to build one myself and if it turns bad I'll take advantage of the fact that my DH actually gave me the go ahead to order one. I was shocked, he never wants to spend money, but then again he really hates do it yourself projects.

I built mine, with little to no building experience. My hubby's job is deadline intensive and he had to work long hours when I needed the coop built (plus he hates DIY projects as well). It was a great first project for me and I surprised myself by enjoying. So, if you have time to build one, you may find a huge sense of accomplishment in doing so. if you don't have the time or inclination then you already had the go ahead to buy one. So, you have a win win. There are many great plans and ideas out there for tractors.
