Good morning!
Does anyone else here have chicken tractors/portable pens? If so, how do you manage moving it without interrupting the chicken's egg laying cycle? It seems every week when we move ours, it takes a few days for the hens to lay again. Is moving them the problem, or am I missing something else?
Would a permanent coop be better for them?

We have a tractor with wheels on it for moving around the yard but have only used it for pullets and introducing new birds into the run.
Any time we do something to disturb our hens routine they stop laying for several days. so we do everything we can to keep them calm.

Thanks so much for your help, AK-Bird-brain. This helps us know what we need to do when we begin building.
