(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
*I am a noob when it comes to chickens. I did raise them as a child for FFA. That was a while ago. So I am re-learning it all again.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
* Living in the city of Portland, we can only have 6 hens. We must purchase a permit for 50.00 anually to keep them.
(3) What breeds do you have?
* With much searching and thanks to Backyardchickens.com I have chosen: 3Barred Rocks, 2Buff Orpingtons, 1Giant Jersey.
I will be getting the May 5th at the feed store here in Maine.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
* SeaChick lead me here. She is the Spearhead who fought to get chickens in South Portland, Maine. I knew we passed it here to in
Portland so I wanted Chickens. I checked out her very informative website and it led me here.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
*I am learning how to be a urban farmer. Music, Herbology and medicinal plants, Wild Plant foraging, Camping, Hiking, Gardening,
Genealogy and so on.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
*I am a newly wed.
I married the mountain man of my dreams. I am a full time CNA(getting my Doula certification) and my Husband
is in the local university(computer system engineer). We have 2 dogs, 2 cats and now 6 chickens. We are all natural, Organic
household and love learning about self-sufficency..
