position of egg last couple of days.....

OK.... I have some eggs in a make shift bator( my first time ). Couple of questions

In the last few days in the bator should I completely remove the turner. If so....

Should I put the eggs in a certain position too aid in hatching or just lay them back in there however.

Finally, I got these eggs (some one day old and some two days old)in the mourning and didn't put heat on them until about 8 pm with a temp of 65. With it slowly climbing to 99 over a day and a half. Did I mess up by putting them in there at a low temp and letting it slowly climb. All just for future reference.
 
Just lay them in there, position makes no differance.
You might have a problem with the eggs being put in a ccold incubator. The incubator should have been up and running before any eggs went in. Then again a broody hen will not stay on the nest until she has many eggs under her.
 
I am new but thought it would be okay to slowly raise the temp. I figured in shipping mail order eggs they weren't heated until they got to you. I guess i'll find out....patience is not one of my traits.
 
The last few days will see the chick moved into position for hatching. No more turning is needed.

Always take a turner out of a bator at lockdown. Chicks have a habit of injuring themselves on turner.

I always hatch in a carton. I try to place the egg on a slight angle, not vertical, but not horizontal either. I've had good luck with that.

They weren't shipped, got local but was just figuring that if shipped eggs probably didn't get heated I would be okay leaving mine out at room temp. until I could get home.
