i went to check on my hens toaday and my BO who recently turned broody out of the blue had plucked out at least thirty of her breast feathers. I dont know how long she has been acting broody because i was recently on vacation for a week and a half and she wasnt broody before i left. For a little more infosee my post ( Stopped being broody?)

A broody hen will pluck out her chest feathers to keep her eggs warmer. One of our hens has de-feathered her entire underside; she looks like a supermarket chicken. It's perfectly natural. They'll grow back when she stops being broody.
