My husband and kids convinced me to get ducks today from Tractor Supply. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ve never owned a duck and have lots of research to do! But, does anyone know what breeds these two ducks might possibly be?

My guess is the one with the bib is a Black Sweedish, and the last one is a Khaki Campbell.

Thank you! Do you know how soon ducks can be sexed?
It could be 7 or 8 weeks, some will have dark heads on the males even sooner. A curly tail feather is a sure sign of male! A loud quack is a female. You can see the curly tail feather on this guy, he is about 16 weeks in this photo, all his adult feathers.

Thanks! That’s good to know!!

We picked up two more because we loved them so much and having four seemed like a good number! 🤣 I’m assuming these will be a white duck? Which breed do you think?

That’s how it starts…

four birds. Two ducklings, two chicks. That’s all I had a year ago. Now I have six ducks and 9 chickens. :th
Good luck!!

Duck math works a lot like chicken math! When you find out that you have 3 males and only one female? Buy some sexed females from a hatchery, of course. The hatchery has a min of 15 to ship, or you get to pay outrageous shipping costs. Then, one of your favorites dies, so quick, hatch some of the eggs you have sitting on the counter . . .:gig
