I have an African Grey gosling that is 17 days old now, her name is Maroo. Two days ago she had what appeared to be an "eye burger" in her left eye. While I was holding her she shook it out of her eye on her own. I didn't think anything of it because she seemed perfectly fine. The next day when I put her in a tub of water to swim and clean herself I noticed another type of film on the same eye, she again took care of it herself. Well, this morning her eye is shut and she's not totally acting herself. Should I put a little bit of antibiotic in her water? Im not sure what to do. I have had geese for only a little over a year and this is my first experience with hatching goslings. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Could she have injured it ? or maybe has something in it like dust of a bit of feed? Put some unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar in her drinking bucket and see if she'll wash her face real good and also drink it ACV has healing properties in it and you may be able to avoid an antibiotic since they come with their own problems. Also there is a product called Veterycin spray for wounds and infections it can be safely sprayed into the eyes and face. I got mine at TSC or Terramycin eye ointment found at most feed stores. Any other symptoms?
