Chickenslol
Songster
had to go away on vacation this weekend and left a family friend to chicken sit, came back and she did not dump out their water (their water needs to be dumped out daily because the chickens will knock poop, shavings, food and other crap in the water). their water was completely gross and slimy. i walked up to check and the first thing i see is one of my girls pooping watery liquid, so i’m immediately on edge that they could be sick. dumped and cleaned the water, came back to put them in tonight and found a separate chicken stuck in the nesting box in the dark. i think nbd she probably just stayed too long being broody and the sun went down on her. i pick her up, put her on the roost (and she didn’t even flap or protest??) and when i went to see if she laid an egg i see more watery poop. this signals to me that my flock is experiencing an illness, and i was wondering if there’s something i should treat them with as a preventative measure? everyone is acting healthy so far but i feel like i should get on top of it. also the second chicken was in the nesting box for at least three hours, but she is known to be broody
