Hi, so yesterday we decided to move four of our six chicks to the outside coop (still in a brooder). We made this decision because the four bigger ones were trampling our little silkies, so we thought it would be safer for the silkies to have their own area. When I filled the water container up I went to go put it down in the brooder but noticed it was off center. I tried to push it back and realized that one of our little silkies was stuck underneath. Her head was poking out. I freaked out and got her out but she's been acting a bit off ever since. She's more lethargic than usual, and is off balance when she walks. Last night she didn't move much at all but she did walk from the center of the brooder to the food/water containers. This morning she seemed better. But a few minutes ago I picked her up and she stood on my hand and a bit of watery slime came out of her beak. She has pooped and it doesn't seem any different from usual.

I am absolutely devastated. I cried on and off for hours last night and can't shake the image of seeing her under the water container. She's dark and it wasn't very bright in the coop at the time (and even less so in the brooder) so I just missed her. I feel absolutely horrible about this. My parents have tried to make me feel better by saying that if something was really wrong then she wouldn't have survived this long, but I don't agree. I don't know what to do. I thought maybe I had accidentally broken something in her neck but she seems to be walking fine. When she's standing she can hold her head up too.

Again, I feel absolutely horrible and disgusted with myself. I can't believe I didn't look before setting the water container down.
