Little Miss Starlight was outted by her clutch mates/ adoptive mom. The chicks were placed under a broody hen, she has accepted the others no problem. I'm not sure if she was injured by mom/other birds or if mom "knew" she was unhealthy and kicked her out.
I can't tell from videos I took before if she had the limp.
Pictures are not great, it is hard to hold and snap. I didn't see like an obvious injury marker. Just the bruising (?) and the limp.
Anyway to tell if injury or is there some illness that would cause this.
My biggest concern right now is that she is alone. I don't want to pull a clutch mate in case she dies then have another lone chick. I'm on the fence about getting a couple more to keep her company and still have a back up buddy if she dies.
She is oblivious lonely, cries a ton, especially if I leave the room, and tolerates me holding her. I'm leaning towards getting a couple more just because it hurts my heart.
Anything I can do to help? I'll take any advice! Thank you.
