Possible necrotic flesh help....

Wound and reintroducing Questions--

My girl was attacked about a month and a half ago. I've quarantined her, spraying her vetericyn, using honey and neosporin regularly.
She eats and drinks as normal and has been putting more weight on the last week or so, and her comb is getting its color back.

I've been slowly reintroducing her to the rest of the flock again separating them with chicken wire..

Two questions...

I don't know why it turned black, if it's dead skin, a scab or dirty. As soon as I let her get some fresh air she dug her self a dirt bath. Someone asked me if it was necrotic flesh... and I have no idea. Is it? And if so. What do I do??

My other question is do I need to wait until her wound is 100% healed with skin and feathers grown back before she can join the others?

Do you know what your hen was attacked by? I would keep a close eye on it to see if it’s affecting the tissue around it, but if she doesn’t seem to bothered and is still improving, I wouldn’t worry too much.
As for reintroducing her to the flock, I’d recommend some supervised interactions every day or two, so the other hens won’t try to fight her, provided she seems strong and the wound isn’t visible. I probably wouldn’t have her in permanently until she’s fully healed. That being said you know your flock best! If they’re very aggressive or someone above her in the pecking order is a known bully, you might have to accept there will just be a higher risk of a fight when she does come back.
