Hello friends. I have one two-part question and hopefully it's simple enough. What egg color and what hen /roo colors can I expect from crossing a Blue Andalusian hen with a Midnight Majestic Marans rooster? The only color outcome charts I've been able to locate online for the past three hours mostly focus on green and /or blue eggs.
Thank you all!

The Andalusian lays white eggs and the Marans should lay a dark brown. Most likely some shade of a brown egg but I' not sure what the dominant and recessive genes will be present.

The Marans male is black barred. I think the Andalusian Blue is from the B/B/S gene so I'd expect half the chicks to be blue barred and half black barred. They should not be sex linked so you cannot tell sex by colors or patterns. I don't think the lacing will show.

I did not know the Marans was black barred! We're excited to see what our barnyard mixes turn out as. We have 2 Roos, but only know what the Midnight Majestic Marans is.

Then I have no idea what he is. My guess is that at least one of his parents or grandparents was a Midnight Majestic Marans but that is a guess. He may have the genetics for a dark brown egg but that is no given.
