one of my reds was in her coop, perfectly fine when she went in, after she had got done laying she came of the coop and couldn't seem to walk on her leg or even put pressure on it! any suggestions that I can do to help her, is she gonna be ok? what to look for if it is sprained or broken. any advice would be great. Thank you!

Are they putting any weight on it at all? Will they grab your finger with their foot? When they pull back, is there strength in the hock joint and hip?

You can feel for a break. Work your way up the leg, paying attention to whether joints grind, pop, appear completely dislocated or if what should be straight, solid bones give to pressure.

yes she can put a little bit of pressure on it, she will grab my figure but very very lightly, I cant feel a break, it looks like it may be twisted slightly but she can still hobble around.

Did she actually lay the egg or just go to the nesting box?
Any photos of the leg?
You feel it may be twisted? If that's the case, then I would restrict her activity for a few days to see if she improves. Cage her inside the coop/run with her own food/water.

yes she did lay me an egg, yes it is slightly twisted.

If you can get pictures of her front on with her legs down, perhaps on a table or flat surface, that may help us to see if there is a deformity. Look for swelling, redness or green bruising, on the bones and the joints. Look for a bumblefoot scab on the foot pad. If you cannot see anything, forcing her to rest the leg for a few days would be the best treatment. Dog crates with food and water are great for that.
