I have shipped eggs arriving on Wednesday and the possibility of some arriving on Friday of the same week. Can I add the Friday eggs to the bator if the Wednesday eggs are put in on Thursday, after their 'rest', and the Friday eggs are put in on Saturday after their 'rest'. Am I going to run into trouble later on? Sorry for confused question but need to know what you all think asap please. Thanks in advance.

You'd be far better off keeping the Wednesday eggs in storage....pointy end down, around 55 to 60 degrees and turn them 180 degrees each day...until all eggs are ready and settled otherwise you will end up with a staggered hatch which is far from ideal and will cause you more worry than it's worth xxx

You are welcome...and yes, the basement sounds fine. Don't forget to turn them....well, more of a rock than a turn I s'pose. I usually place mine in an egg box and then lean the egg box up on its long side on a book or something, then once a day, move them so the the other long side is uppermost....make sense?

Good luck with your hatch hon xxx

Yes, I figured it was possible but not optimal, and with shipped eggs it seems that the odds are against you to begin with so best not to stress them any further than necessary. Thanks to all, and if I remember to do it, I will post the results of the hatch.
