Possibly early stage of bumblefoot?

My rooster has bumblefoot on his toe which I am treating, but on his other leg he has swelling on his footpad and limps. There is no scab that I can see on his footpad, is this an early stage of bumblefoot? It is soft to touch. How should I treat an early case of bumblefoot?

You can't really treat it as bumble foot until there is a specific site of injury with a scab. It could be an infection that is not bumble foot or it could be an injury. As far as an internal medicine you need to know more to give anything. The only thing you could do at this point is soak it and keep an eye on it until it develops into something you can treat. I had a rooster that had a swollen foot for two weeks until it finally developed a sore that could be treated.
