UPDATE - We tried for 5 days and then had to put Smith down. It was like she did not want to live and she did not want to die, so someone had to make the decision for her. Definitely a bit of a broken heart but .. it's nature. It just sucks when it's your buddy. Thank you to all who contributed a wealth of information and support. What a great site. Namaste
