Last night a possum found her way into our smaller coop. She attacked and killed one of our older girls (as she was by herself) and also tried to get into our 3 month old pullet cage I keep in the same coop. One girl is completely fine but the other had her wing taken off to the bone. (See attached photo). I have rinsed this major wound off really well, vetericyn twice a day, but what else can I do? She is eating, drinking, pooping. I know she is hurting but can she come back from this? Should I do more for her wing to heal? Her sister would be so lost without her. They have both moved inside and in a quiet room for now.

First, treat for shock. Shock can kill when the injury won't. Give sugar water or Gatorade and keep in a darkish room. To make sugar water, dissolve 1 tsp sugar, a pinch each of baking soda and salt in warm water, and hold up to her beak for her to drink. If she's not interested, put a drop on your finger and put it on the crease of her beak and let her swallow. Repeat till she refuses by shaking her head.
