Tonight when I went to check on my flock, I found one our hens outside, looking into the old coup. I was concerned, because it was already dark out, and her body language screamed cautious curiosity. I grabbed her and secured her in the coup my flock is currently using. I kept the old one, because occasionally the hens like to hang out inside, and sometimes lay their eggs in it. I also thought about using it to quarantine the hens we plan on getting this Spring. Well, when I took a look tonight, I found a possum curled up in one of the nesting boxes
Mya, my dog, had a fun time flushing it out, and almost caught it before it disappeared over the fence. We don't leave food out, or do anything that I think would make our yard attractive to a possum, especially because our dog makes a habit of chasing off anything in our yard that isn't a chicken. I have no idea how to keep it out of my yard.
