Post Office Scrambled my eggs

Quote:
How were they packaged? Where they in a standard sized shipping box or a regular box? Shipping eggs is always a risk - we have shipped two batches of eggs on the same day from the same group of birds to people in neighboring states on the other side of the country. One person got a 80% hatch the other a 10%.

If I don't get a payment from a person here by Tuesday I'll have a dozen that I would be wiling to ship to you. 40 dollars for a dozen Narragansett shipping included, just because of your hard ship. And no I don't have any others to ship at this time, just trying ti do a favor. Email me and I can keep you updated if I receive payment or not from other party.I'm thinking they will not because I have emailed them a few times and never heard back, sooo ???? I always feel bad when somebody has a bad experience with eggs as I have been there done that

Harp, I would love some Narri eggs, I'll take them

As a former clerk who loaded/unloaded the trucks of mail I will tell you that 90-95% of damaged packages are the fault of the shipper. If a person is going to spend the money to ship something as fragile as eggs they should at least understand how to package them. We as a business care for the packages that are sent using the USPS. Also I work in a rural plant/PO and we get a lot of chickens or eggs in/out of our facility and I rarely see any damages eggs.

Sorry it would not be fair to the others in line, This was a one time deal for rockingtk as we have spoken few times and they are just trying to get started in turkeys so I thought I would help. What we could do is maybe a trade here in the real near future ??? Narri's for beltsvilles ???

I am sorry I was picking on the Post Office because I know there are good people working there, too.
I want to thank Harp for selling me some eggs. I hope in the future I can do something to help someone else get started in turkeys.
I designed my pens today and started working on them so when I get turkeys they be safe and have a good home.
I been reading everything I can get my hands on about turkeys.

I forgot to tell you I got everything I need to build a cabinet bator.
I using a full size double cabinets I think I will put a devider in the middle and have two heated areas. That way I could hatch is one side and use they other when they hatched. So would I need two different hot water control, two computer fans,40 watt lights, etc?

What different a week makes, I cried last week, I am having Christmas this week. I got a package of the prettiest pink, green and blue eggs today. Non broken,Non crack and the box looks like it was carried on a pillow from Jeff in Ky. Jeff did a outstanding job of packing them. Wrote this side up,Live eggs, temperature sensitivity, Extremely Fragile, and more. Wrapped each eggs in paper towel and bubble wrap, it was so fun undoing each one to see the different colors.
Great job Jeff, Great Job Post Office.
That differences from last week today is the box didn't look dented and like it had been used as a football. The lady that sent them was not at fault and has agreed to replace them for me and we working on the right now. She was as upset about the whole deal as I was.
