As much as I love the purebred chickens, I find a lot of mutts to be fascinating and extremely eye-catching. It's amazing the colors and patterns you can get from mixing breeds.

This little sweety is from the BUS and a purebred Black Orp hen.
Sorta looks like a Mottled Orp

Here is my mutt Pullet "Flower" she's a D'uccle mixed with some type of crested breed.

My rooster is some sort of EE and I have RIR, BR and Leghorn so I have no idea what these two came from except for the roo.

My ultimate favorite is this little guy. We named him Rex and he has the biggest personality.. and there's nothing graceful about him either. You can hear him running all the way across the yard lol

I have two like this and now that they're older, they are laying EE. I'm guessing they might be related to the RIR since they lay almost olive-colored eggs. This one happens to be my favorite of the two black ones because if you notice, she has a different colored toenail on her middle toe.. the cool thing is, is that she has the same colored nail on the same toe on her other foot too. Makes her stand out.

Oh, these are all so gorgeous!! I love the mutts so much. If I ever get some property, I will purposely allow my breeds to mix. I would just love to see the outcomes I get.
