potato plant leaves

is it safe to feed potato plant leaves to chickens? I know they can't have potato peels, but what about leaves from the plants?

Potato leaves have high levels of solanine--higher than the peelings. The peelings themselves aren't all that bad unless they're exposed to daylight (they'll turn green). I wouldn't worry too much if my birds ate some while on one of their occasional garden break-ins, but I wouldn't intentionally feed potato leaves.
