I know that ducks don't have a voluntary anal sphincter so they can't hold in their poop; but, I was wondering if there's a way to teach my duck where to poop.

Oh lord. Well looks like Phil will be getting diapers.
That is hilarious, I also tried the diapers on my one and only house duck [so far] he wouldn't have even been in here if mama hadn't wanted to kill him.I am starting to think that Nibbler understands when and when not to poop... as he has gotten older, the instances of him crapping on my lap have fallen to near zero. Many times he will get antsy for me to put him down and then poop the second he hits the ground. Can't help but think he must be conscious of it.
We tried the diapers, but Nibbler is much too vain... he knows he looks silly and will not tolerate them! We started Captain Nemo when he was young and had more success, at least, he wouldn't kill himself to get out of them like his dad. Still, I found them nearly as messy as skipping them. After one good poop the diaper would sag and anything subsequent came splattering out. I was still cleaning up messes. Maybe the ones we bought weren't the best design, but they just never seemed to work as well as they should.
When we have the ducks in the house I just have a roll of paper towels and cleaner on hand or keep them on a bath towel. They love watching TV and will hang out on the sofa...
I'd say.On rare occasions the ducks sneak into the house when nobody is looking (usually to steal the dog's kibble... LOL) and I have opened the back door to discover a POOPOCALYPSE in the kitchen. At those times I need to bust out the mop and bleach. Eww.
