Poult help?

Cute baby pics, Steve!! My BRs are never that white -- I love when they are a few days old, just experiencing the world for the first time, before they start to get that cocky teenager attitude.

Your position is completely understandable if the predators abound.

Oh Lord yeah, we're over run with them here, coyotes, bobcats, fox, coons, you name it. Woke up one morning to the dog barking, whole pack of coyotes walking up and down the aisles between all the pens, as if say humm, which one do it want?
Counted 6 that morning, didnt even mind me, saw me and everything, they changed their attitude once I got the riffle out though, LOL
But, yes, that's my primary concern, along with getting squished by older birds. Done like Steve suggested, in a secure pen, isolated from other birds too, all should be just fine. I just dont easier to brood them. I'm sure Billy has the ol dingos and fox too down there!

Those are White Hollands - you should see them now! I'll have to get some pics of the "gang". This year we grew out about 40-ish new breeders in the Hollands and are just now starting to go through them and pick the keepers.

just wanted to add that they are not always completely safe in a brooder. I had one drown in a quail waterer (!)
one escaped and drowned itself 20 feet away in the toilet and another managed to break it's leg. (Plastic tote, paper towels as bedding, plastic waterer & feeder. No idea how this happened.)

Anyway congrats on the hatch! Post pics!
