Stay away from this so called hatchery. After visiting it twice I am left with the belief that Judy's knowledge about chickens is limited and her ability to sex chicks is non-existent. When I questioned her about sexing she told me they were sexed soon after hatching but then proceeded to a fenced in area where she had both "pullets" and "cockerels". After asking her to show me a hen, she picks up a bird, places it on its back in her hands and tells me that it must be a "cockerel" since it starting struggling to get upright. When discussing the absurdity of this method and how it is an old wive's tale she became upset with me. If you want sexed chicks, I'd stay away from this place.
