Does anyone know offhand what the poultry rules are for Sturbridge?

(or goaties, or horses? LOL)

I have the question into the zoning dept as well, but I thought this might get a faster response :)

I took a quick look through the online zoning laws and it appears to say that farming is allowed as long as your property is greater than 5 acres. I didn't see anything specifically about poultry or even pets. However, Sturbridge has a permissive bylaw (if it isn't listed as permitted use, it is prohibited by default).

Good luck, I hope you get some answers from zoning and you can get some chickens!

Did you ever get an answer from Sturbridge? I'd love to have chickens too, but only have 2 acres.

Hi there!
5 acres is the minimum for any farming--which includes the keeping/raising of poultry. You can apply for permission to keep poultry though, by going to the agricultural commission.
