Pouring with rain, soggy drenched yard, annoyed chickens

I have a large dog kennel that I have wrapped in hardware cloth. I'm wondering if anyone else has used a kennel and how you were able to pred. proof the large gaps around the door? What did you use for a roof? Ours is odd shaped so the typical kennel roof won't work. THANKS

I have an old dog kennel that someone made out of a steel framed kitchen table. They put hinged sides on it, so all sides can be completely opened for cleaning, and it has a sloped roof build on top. I just drilled some ventilation holes at the top under the eaves, and raised it so the false floor is a few feet off the ground.
