Hi Guys and Gals, I have had 12 eggs incubating for two weeks only to find the power was cut through the night. It was probably off for about 3 hours and the overnight temp was (guessing 16 celcius, 60 farenheit). The eggs were just warm but by thew time I set up my broody hen to take them they had cooled down to cold.
Do they stand much of a chance of surviving, with embryo only two weeks? Also now the power is back on should I put them back in the incubator as there is too many for my silkie to handle. It would be good if the broody could finish incubating to save me having to set up my brooder.
Its only a dozen eggs but very disapointing if none hatch.
Any sugestions would be helpful. Thanks

Yes...they have a huge chance of being just fine.

I recently lost power for triple the amount of time and I was convinced my eggs (same age as yours) all died. They did not.

I would not have moved them.
A few hours in the bator would have been fine.

No reason to move them again unless she quits sitting on them.

Thanks Kiki that has mad my day. I was going to candle them tonight but I will leave them be. A big thanks again

Just wanted to let you know most of my eggs incubator eggs hatched under my surragate silkie, she took 10, while a new hen that had 5 under her took two eggs. It was her quickest hatch 7 days. I now have an extra 12 chicks., out of 17 eggs all up. Considering three were not fertile.
