Power outage...!!

So last night we had a power outage...and I have to tell you I found myself running a power cord from my truck hooked to a ac/dc converter through the front door to the Landry room to plug in my incubator so my eggs would stay up to temp... never thought I would go that far for some eggs...!!! LOL

It is funny how "attached" you get to the eggs and start to worry about them, glad you had a solution at hand though! Hope the hatch goes well.

I had a power outage too while incubating 6 eggs. Luckily I had a broody hen who was sitting on some eggs. I marked Xs on the ones from the incubator and slipped them under the hen. Power came on a few hours later but I waited until after dark to retrieve them as I had to sort through all of them to find the ones marked with Xs. She had definitely rotated them into her clutch.

I don't have a converter I could have used but my other thought was to drive 12 miles to my daughters house where I could plug the incubator in. I certainly didn't want to lose them if I could help it. All that work and worrying....I wanted my payoff.

Mine did all hatch too.
