Prairie Chicken

I was out flyfishing last week end and saw a Prairie Chicken while I was driving home. Do people keep Prairie Chickens as pets/livestock? Are they endangered? Just wondering about them as this was the first one that I had ever seen.

According to the bird book, we have 2 types of prarie chickens, actually a member of the grouse family, in the US. The lesser prarie chicken is definitely endangered, and I think that the greater pc is too. I know a lot of ranchers around here really work to improve the habitat for them, but I haven't heard of anyone keeping them as pets or livestock.
