Well, tomorrow is lockdown day.
Was not successful with a cheap 6 egg amazon special, should have known, bought a chickcozy, and as of today 9 or 10 eggs still show signs of life - 1 was not fertilized and was removed at day 10.

Tomorrow is lockdown day, so, will be taking them out of the little holders and laying them on the mat in the bottom. Will raise up the humidity as best I can, and pray for the best.

Any advice at this point from the pros?

So, being a first time chicken daddy, I have a few questions.
I read the manual for the incubator and it says lay them on the bottom, take out the turner trays close the vent, add water to area B and target a humidity of 55-65.

When I watch some videos, and we all know it’s true if you see it on the internet, some say keep the humidity between 45-55, some say shoot for 70-80, some say dry hatch, some add paper towels under the eggs to get the humidity higher some don’t.

What is a chicken daddy supposed to do? Don’t want to mess them up when I am this close to some barnyard peeps.

Welcome to the internet.

Why not follow the manual? Different things work for different people. We all have different conditions. Some things work for some people but not for others. Try something, evaluate the results, and adjust if necessary. But be consistent so you know your base conditions and might have a better clue of what to adjust if necessary.

We got 1. Day 18.

Yep my countdown flipped to day 3 at about 2 pm today. So I moved em out of the rockers added some humidity and went back to work. Heard one peeping when I did that. Checked on em at 6 and we had a baby.

Our rooster is a Rhode Island Red and Americana mix. These are him and our Australorp and a leghorn. 6 more still incubating. One from our sapphire gem looks like it just externally peeped.
