Pre Egg Laying

my barred rock should be laying anytime. This morning I found a bloody blob in the nesting box. Could this be an attempt to lay or an indication of something wrong? She is not acting differently at all.

Never had one pass blood except to leave some streaks due to stretching out during laying. I guess I wouldn't worry too much but would keep an eye on them, but I'm not sure what you could do anyways.

I agree with @oldhenlikesdogs I've never seen one lay a bloody blob. If you find another one, can you post some photos for us?
