I have a hen that hasn't layed any eggs(since I've had her). Got her in Nov at an auction. She's spent the last 2-3 nights 'pancaked' on a nest of golf balls in a nest thats not in the coop(it's an old feed bucket). But, she totally ignores the nest, even if I put her in it, during the day. I've noticed my roo on her the past 2 weeks.
Is it possible she's going broody or getting ready to lay eggs?

That comb is pretty red so I'm guessing she will lay soon. The pancaking is one of the things a broody will do, but a true broody would stay on the nest 24/7. Good luck.
