I just woke up to a ruckus, ran outside, and after a fair amount of searching found one of my girls dead and across the entire yard. Bleeding from the head and missing a lot of feathers, but nothing eaten as far as I can tell. I looked all over the coop and can not figure out where something got it or how it got her. There aren't feathers scattered (though I'll check again in the morning because it's dark so I might be missing things). Any thoughts? I'm worried about the rest of the flock now because the coop still looks secure. I've had trouble with raccoons in the past but I don't see any entry they could reach through.
