Something got hold of my gosling's leg while she was on the pond , left bite marks on her leg, (not foot) & almost drowned her today. I know there are bass, carp, turtles, 1 big old catfish & lot of brim in the pond. My gosling is almost 4 months old. If her leg is broken will it heal back?

Yes, snapping turtles.

Sounds like it's BB time for turtles!!!

Get a nice comfy chair, umbrella and wait for the turtles to pop their heads out of the water. Shoot at the head that comes out. Some use a .22 for assurance...

As with any firearm, be careful. Projectiles can and will bounce of water, so be sure to not shoot near or towards any houses or animals or anything else you wouldn't want to hit.

Hubby use to shoot turtles on the pond, it's a losing battle though unless you have a TON of time and patience. If you don't have that extra time, or just choose not to use it shooting turtle heads, simply research turtle traps and go with that route. It tends to be a bit safer with less collateral damage. Also, if you go with the turtle trap route, research turtles in your area and do some research. Not all turtles feast on waterfowl and some are even protected I believe. Best to remove the snappers and turn the non-hostiles free.

SNAPPERS....I finally had to drain my pond and get the 4 huge turtles OUT. They were killing all my baby ducks and geese and when one grabbed the back end of a pretty young goose and tore it out

... well that was it! I had to have her euthanized and called the backhoe guy.

That was 6 years ago and there are still no turtles in my pond! I have 34 geese and 7 ducks.

if you ask around you probably can find an experienced turtle hunter in the neighborhood that will be more than glad to rid you of your turtles, snapping turtles make great turtle soup, fried turtle, baked turtle, and other ways of cooking, they are delicious,,ugly and mean, but have a great flavor,,

An easy way to catch turtles is to use a steel leader with a baited hook tied to a Clorox bottle, A good sized piece of meat makes a good bait.

You can use another line to attach it to shore, or just toss them out and let them float. You can check them from a distance because the turtles will move them around a lot when hooked.

Jug hooks work 24/7, and wont kill your neighbors
