Something has been leaving droppings around my coop. It looks like it could be a raccoon, but I'm not sure. There has been no digging or print evidence, just 3 poops left a few weeks apart, at opposite ends of the coop. Anyone recognize this poop? It's not easily seen in the pic, but the droppings have a swirl at the end (kind of S shaped), so not the blunt ends typical of coon. No evidence of food remains in the poop, either. The white specks are from PDZ falling from above. I've studied the dropping chart and coon appears to be the closest match, but I just want to be sure what i'm dealing with. My cam isn't working right now, so the poop is all I have to go on.

Hot wires have kept predators away from my birds. Once the predators test the wires they know that whatever is on the other side isn't worth getting zapped for and I have q quite powerful fence charger and it will hurt. Good luck...

I'm pretty sure this was from a coyote. It has persimmon seed in it and there is a persimmon tree. I think if they are hungry enough the will eat most anything. Everything likes chicken...

Thank you for sharing the charts! I'm almost certain it's a coon now, especially after seeing the variety of scat images on the green one at the top. All the other charts I had referred to only had one example for raccoon scat, which didn't look like an exact match. Now I definitely see it's a match.

Can someone help me identify this predator? Had my first predator loss in 7 years.
