My chicks are five and a half weeks old. How confident should I feel about these locks? The guy who rents our cottage in the back said he saw a raccoon by the coop around 1am. They are so little and vulnerable. If there is more I can do to protect them, please give me your advice!

As a back up lock, I have a pull string gate lock. It locks on the inside of the door. You pull a wired string and it releases the latch on the inside. Once you're inside, you push the door and it automatically locks behind you. What you have should be sufficient. I'd be more concerned about the protection you have under the door.

Thank you. I will look into that. I put cement pavers all around the coop about a foot and a half wide. They aren’t very deep though. The latches In the pictures are on the coop door inside the run too.
