Predator proofing coop

I was forced to put my girls in the barn before it was ready because we had company. I lost two girls last night of course one being my beautiful white and black troublemaker Cal. So since its my husbands fault (lovely man but so vary much in the dog house) he will be paying for my home depot trip today. Will plywood with 1x1/2 be predator proof. I believe my loss was due to a rat possible a weasel or mink.

You can't have any holes in the coop that would fit a nickel through them. A predator can pull a whole quail (in pieces) through any hole bigger than 1/2-5/8".

Okay at the moment they are indoors but I will sort out their out door cage soon thanks
