Prefab chicken coop poop tray replacement?

I purchased a precision Super Constrution XL annex chicken coop a few years back and it's doing well---except for the slidable poop tray metal is rusting out. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a site for purchasing replacement trays? It will be a challenge to get the perfect dimensions to slide in and out if I have to make one myself. The wood frame that slides in and out dimensions are 20 1/4 x 41 x 2 1/4. Metal sheet slides into grooves in that frame. I'm struggling to figure out how to replace or fix and wonder if anyone has found a good solution. Any advice appreciated.

I did a bit of searching and can't seem to find replacement cleaning trays. I'm sure you've looked too.

The PDF instructions for the coop does have a phone number 1-800-877-PETMATE, you may want to give them a call and just ask if they sell replacements? Worth a shot.

The only other thing I can think of that you may want to look at would be Oil Drip trays, you may find a size that works - not sure about that. I got a couple of them from O'Reilly auto parts to use under my quail hutches, they are fairly sturdy and cheap (under $20 each).
That might get you on the right search path anyway.

If no luck, then you may have to cut a piece of plywood to fit, cover with some vinyl floor and just do the best you can with that.

Perhaps a dog cage tray can be cut down to size? (or with more searching and amazing fortune you may find one the right size?)

I have a few of those “superior construction” chicken coops that TSC was selling back in 2019. (My model is a different shape.)*

I will say, their thicker wood is much nicer than the usual prefab coops. And, since they didn’t come pre-primed, they made a big point of telling you to stain or paint the wood. I painted mine, and I love them. I am now a big convert to painting all prefab coops before assembly. (Not that I recommend the flimsy things, but sometimes they have their place.)

I personally never slide out the slide out trays. I keep the shavings too deep for that. So I just scoop/shovel the litter out when it’s needed. It’s 5 years on now, and we have had to “rebuild” the floors on two of them because of them rusting through. We just cut pieces of plywood to fit and made a whole new floor.

That doesn’t help you if you are set on having the slide-out floor, but it does let you know that there can be a solution.

*side note, I was super lucky. TSC was clearing them out over memorial day weekend that year, and all the stores were having 50% off marked clearance prices. I was able to get them for $160 each!! I called around to every store within driving distance until I was able to get the three I wanted. What a deal! 5 years later and I’m still happy about that one.

I am having the same issue. TSC had me call

1-877-Petmate (1-877-738-6283) and I did and the company said they do not offer replacement parts. Please let me know what you do to?​

Hmm. I'm in similar circumstance. I was wondering if I couldn't purchase tin panels, cut them to size. Redo the wood portion. Problem is I don't have all the tools to do that kind of stuff. Might be a business opportunity for someone.

I'd suggest finding a local Heating & HVAC supplier/contractor. These guys do sheet metal construction of ducting and A/C components. You'll likely find they have all the cool tools like big shears and bending brakes and I have little doubt a guy could fashion up a nice, heavy gauged tray or just a new cut flat galvanized sheet that you could attach to a freshly made or existing wooden framework to make a tray. I have utilized a local firm like this to build all kinds of cool projects and they've always been sort of end of day, knock it out in 20 minutes, "give me $20 bucks and call it good" kind of project that these guys can just hammer out quick.
