Prefab Coop Repurpose into Breeder Box

I’ve been thinking of ways to repurpose the prefab coop my first few chickens started out in so it isn’t a total loss. You know the story…it looked good on paper before I knew better but was way too small, not very functional, and had ventilation issues. This particular one was the Petmate Superior Construction from TSC. I decided to cut it down and make a few mods to make a nice brooder box. I think it turned out pretty well, and I intend to put it on wheels to make it easy to move inside/outside as needed. I suppose it could also serve as a sick bay as needed as well. I still have the run panels with a small roof that I am thinking might be repurposed into a trellis for the garden or maybe a small green house. I’m just happy to have it out of the yard and converted into someone more useful.

That's fantastic! Good job. I also use prefabs as brooder coops they are very handy for that purpose. And about the only purpose :'D
