About to purchase a heater plate for my chicks on the way, and would like to know folks opinion on thees two brands. Preference for the Premier1 or for the Rentacoop heater plate?

I'm unfamiliar with the rentacoop plate but I have 2 premier 1 plates. The small and the extra small. They get used almost constantly. I'm very fond of them.
The only problem I've had is one of the legs broke once. So, I would recommend buying a spare leg along with them but I've had them for years and they are likely the most efficient energywise.

No experience with the Rentacoop plate, but very happy with my Premier1. My guess is they're both made in the same factory and just branded differently.

They seem to be the same product, just different colors. If the rentacoop plate comes with the cover, they are the same price. If not, the Premier 1 is cheaper.

It seems to have many names, here in Europe it's called Comfort. I'm testing it at the moment and I'm afraidit's a bit too cold, the chicks wont leave from under it... It could also be that the rest of the brooder is a bit cold too...

Hard to say if it's 'too cold', some of the plates have a disclaimer not to use it in ambient temps below 50°F...others have used them there tho.
Height needs to be adjusted properly...and habitat needs to be protected from drafts.
Hopefully your chicks are coming out from under to eat and drink enough.

The room where the brooder is at, it's around 66f, anyway I've got a bit paranoid and changed to a ceramic heating lamp... The chicks seem to be reacting positively to it.

66 is fine for ambient temp.
I do use a 100w heat over the feeding station(only during the day) for the first few days to make sure they are eating/drinking/moving well.
